Ascend provides its clients with
a full scope of RF engineering design and network performance
consulting services. Ascend consulting team includes experienced
staff who has designed and optimized major networks including
leading wireless mobility carriers, broadband wireless carriers
and network equipment vendors.
Ascend continues to maintain expertise in prevailing
and emerging wireless technologies. A broad range of Ascend expertise
include: Cellular, Personal Communications Systems (PCS), Global
System for Mobiles (GSM), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA),
Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Integrated Dispatch Enhanced
Network (iDEN). Ascend is fully conversant with the emerging Broadband
wireless technologies such as fiber-optics, wireless fiber, Local
Multipoint Distribution Services (LMDS), Wireless Local Loop (WLL)
and Point to Multipoint (PTMP) distribution services. Ascend continues
to expand upon its core expertise in emerging technologies and
protocols such as General Packet Radio System (GPRS), Enhanced
Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) and Third Generation (3G)
Networks.
Ascend's consulting services cover the following
areas:
Network Benchmarking
To assist our customer to know how their network
compares to their competitors, Ascend provides a comprehensive
Network benchmarking services that will take into account not
only drive testing information, but network counters and in-building
assessments. Network benchmarking finds service provider's trouble
spots before their customer releases that there were problems.
Benchmarking services is a through trouble shooting analysis with
comprehensive in-market analysis, network review, evaluate performance
against competitions, measure network performance using drive
testing to examine coverage and call quality, testing of call
availability, quality and features and most importantly is testing
of in-building services.
Network Design and Candidate
Evaluation
Ascend consultants utilize latest software and hardware
technology to design networks with the exact service levels and
capacity in mind. Our thorough planning and design analysis is
a baseline for the best system performance. Ascend has put together
engineering expertise with extensive experience in optimizing
network and can ensure our client to have the quality coverage
they need, where they need it, and their network will have the
capacity to carry their customers' calls. Services operators and
vendors can get our service to set coverage thresholds to meet
specified service levels.
Evaluating candidates is one of core capabilities.
Our engineers analyze the candidates and verify that the site
objectives are met. Computer based drive test is utilized to confirm
our predication of the site. The site planning phase of project
includes antenna type, antenna and transceiver number configurations.
As part of the overall design and evaluation services, Ascend
documents all design considerations, drive tests and candidate
evaluations so that everything runs smoothly, down to the smallest
detail.
Propagation Model Tuning
Through extensive training and actual experience,
Ascend engineers have mastered the ability to tune a variety of
propagation models to lock the best accuracy of predications.
By collecting rich drive test data for a wide variety of terrains
and standardize test equipment we tune our customer's model to
predict coverage achieved by base stations. As a model of efficiency,
Ascend will choose the base model, collect the field data, and
then integrate this information into the propagation tool.
Integration and Optimization
Once the sites are ready and operational, Ascend
engineers will integrate them into the network and optimize RF
configurations. Our engineers continuously evaluate, adjust if
necessary, retest and set the appropriate parameters and translations.
The task identifies neighbors, plan frequencies and PN offsets,
programming handover parameters and quality thresholds, and adjusting
power controls.
No mater what the technology or protocol, our engineers have the
experience to keep your network at its peak. Be it CDMA, GSM,
TDMA or iDEN, our ability to deliver an optimized network, is
essential for every call to be crisp and clear, and this has been
our commitment to our client's network for years and years to
come.
Network Performance
Network performance can deteriorate, and call quality
can be poor, intermittent or call dropped altogether, as the network
gets larger and the number of subscriber increases. Ascend engineers
conduct periodic reviews of network performance to maintain excellent
call quality.
Performing overall network audit to check
parameters and setting that are inconsistent with the current
traffic loading, neighborhood list requirement, missing or extraneous
neighbor pairs is one of primary approach to address network performance.
Through optimization drive tests and call trace data, our engineers
are able to find cell specific problems and correct them for the
highest quality network.
